About Us

Hi, I'm Michelle Jensen, owner and founder of Salt & Light Pilates. 

I've called the Sugar Land area home for over 40 years, and this community is where I've built my life, raised my six children, and now have the privilege of being a grandmother. Faith, family, and serving others have always been at the center of who I am. 

I discovered Pilates in 2022 and quickly fell in love with not only how it made me feel physically, but also the confidence, strength, and sense of balance it brought into my life. As I continued my own Pilates journey and began training with Balanced Body, I started dreaming about creating something I felt was missing in our community.

I wanted to design a place specifically for women; a smaller, more personal studio where women of all ages and fitness levels could walk through the door and feel comfortable, encouraged, and known. 

The dream became Salt & Light Pilates. 

With just eight reformers, our studio was intentionally created to feel intimate rather than intimidating. My goal was never to simply open a Pilates studio. I wanted to build a community where women could become stronger, take time for themselves, form friendships, and leave feeling better than when they walked in. 

The name Salt & Light reflects the faith and values that guide my life and the kind of environment I hope to create: one filled with encouragement, kindness, joy, and purpose. 

As a wife, mom of six, grandmother, business owner, and woman who understands how easy it is to spend years taking care of everyone else, this studio is especially close to my heart. 

Salt & Light Pilates is my invitation to women to make a little room for themselves, too.
